Our national programmes are based on evidence of what works for who and when and are also co-developed with employers, educators and young people to offer a quality experience for all involved. This month we shine a spotlight on the DYW Skills Academy which supports young people in their senior phase at school to get industry ready through a blend of online digital resources, interactive employer sessions and one to one support. Young people can gain the insight, knowledge and skills they need to build their confidence and prepare for the world of work. Employers can get involved and take a lead role in inspiring young people and shaping the future workforce. The DYW Skills Academy offers employers and educators a fully packaged meaningful way to connect to support young people. The employer sessions can be delivered face to face in the classroom locally and we are also working with partners at eSgoil to deliver these with 6 different employers nationally through DYW Live. These virtual sessions, running for 45 minutes at 10am each morning week commencing 28th November, are available to book now at https://e-sgoil.com/dyw-skills-academy/ Delivering elements of the DYW Skills Academy through DYW Live provides equity of access for young people all over Scotland to engage with programmes and employer activity that may not be available in the local area. Sessions are delivered through GLOW using MS Teams and all educators and young people across Scotland have free access to this safeguarded approach. The employer led sessions cover aspects of work and skills that employers told us they were keen to support young people to understand and develop:
Do get in touch with us if you would like to find out more about the programme and how you can be involved.
