On Tuesday 27th September 2022, Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) launched our annual equalities social media campaign across Scotland – A Job For Everybody. This year the campaign coincided with National Inclusion Week and Young Persons Guarantee and was aimed at employers, parents, carers and young people.
The campaign aimed to:
Celebrate diversity and inclusion in the workplace
Provide real examples that illustrate diversity and inclusive practice in the workplace
Demonstrate the range of support available for young people and employers by celebrating and signposting
Highlight regional partners who will support businesses/organisations in understanding diversity and inclusion
Drive employer engagement with the Young Person’s Guarantee partners
This year’s campaign was a great success with the hashtag being used in 384 posts by 124 users, reaching 284,810 and gaining 850 engagements with 958,255 impressions.
During the day the DYW regional groups shared stories and experiences which promote, illustrate and celebrate diversity and inclusion in the workplace across social media, giving real life examples and demonstrating the range of support available for young people and employers.
We shared a range of organisations who offer support to those with potential barriers to employment and those who offer support to employers when recruiting people with additional support needs. Such as MCR Pathways, Career Ready, Different Minds, Enable Scotland and Young Scot.
We would like to extend a thanks to all those who got involved in this year's campaign.
