Due to the challenges of Covid-19, school pupils from this academic session will be less likely to be able to engage face-to-face with employers to learn about career pathways, skills, and roles within industry.

Nationally, Developing the Young Workforce have developed a range of sector specific virtual resources for S1s, S2s and S3s across Scotland, launching in January 2021.  The resources are for educators to be able to use within their virtual classrooms or for young people and parents to learn about the world of work at home
.

We have focused on the following three industries in the first instance:

  • Tasty Careers

  • Energising Careers

  • Healthy Careers

For each industry, there are industry insight films, career insight films, activity ideas, quizzes and other resources to inform and inspire pupils.

If you would like to arrange any live virtual employer engagement opportunities such as a career talk or workplace tour in any of the above sectors, please contact your local DYW Regional group.

Participating schools are encouraged to promote their involvement by posting content on social media using the hashtag #DYWVirtual and tagging their @local regional group and @DYWScot.
